About
recycle old jeans
I made this hanging wall pockets from an old pair of jeans. The letters are made from felt representing my grand daughters name Brianna. We all call her Bri. The pockets are cut from different old pairs of jeans and sewed onto the back panel. The 2 embroidered pockets are from Bri's favorite jeans she can't wear anymore.
The hanging pocket can be hung on the back of a closet door to store small items in.
I used a pants hanger with the rod that flips out and back into the slot.Just run it through the belt loops.

You Will Need
-
Step 1
I didn't take pics step by step, no camera for that(this is a webcam) but all you do is cut the jeans apart at the side seams all the way from top to bottom.Use the back piece for the hanger.Leave the belt loops on.
You will need a pants or suit hanger, the one with the rod in it that fits into a slot.
Of course if you don't have one, you can always tack it up on the door by the waistband. -
Step 2
Cut out some pockets, different sizes, from other old jeans or you can make some pockets.Pin the pockets on, starting below hip pockets. Place them anyway you like, just leave a little room between them.Place some pockets down each leg.I put a big one on the bottom of one leg for large items like shampoo bottles, etc.

Step 4
For the waistband,I simply cut the waistband off of my grand daughter's favorite jeans she's outgrown and run it thru the beltloops, and cut it off even with the edge of the pants. You can use ribbon, scarf, or whatever for that also.Sew the ends so it won't slide out.I added a little piece of lace from an old nightie just for fun.

Step 5
The letter Bri are my grand daughter's name Brianna but we all call her Bri.I took some pink felt and drew the letters on it,cut them out and hand sewed them to the top of the jeans. The pink dot is a button.
Last, I stitched a zig zag all the way around the edge(from top of waist to top of waist on other side) of the jean pocket holder to keep it from fraying.
That's it! Enjoy your new pocket holder!
