painting kitchen utensils
I have a baby on the way, and we are doing house renos so my Christmas budget this year is pretty tight! So what I've decided to do is make as many gifts as I can. My sister has recently moved into a new home, so this year I'm going to give her some funky kitchen utensils in her favourite colours!

  • How to make cutlery. Groovy Utensils! - Step 1
    Step 1

    You will need:
    Bamboo or unstained wooden utensils
    Your choice of groovy colours
    Rubber pants or tape
    Paint Brush

  • How to make cutlery. Groovy Utensils! - Step 2
    Step 2

I'm going to use thick rubber bands,
They hold tight and leave a nice space between the colours I've choosen

  • How to make cutlery. Groovy Utensils! - Step 3
    Step 3

    I've chosen Pink and Yellow!
You can use acrylic or oil paints, but if using acrylic you may want to apply a clear sealer if your going to wash these regularly.

    Step 4

Apply a few coats, allowing time to dry inbetween.
While you're waiting, why not paint some other utensils as well!

  • How to make cutlery. Groovy Utensils! - Step 5
    Step 5

Once your happy with your coverage (2-3 coats is usually enough) and your paint has dried, it's time to remove the bands/tape!
    and TA-DA!
