  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 1
    Step 1

Gather together all the stuff you will need to fuse any kind of plastic together, today we are using crisp packets, chocolate wrappers and ice lolly wrappers to show you how 2 fuse plastic together to make it thicker to recycle....for what ever you want to use it for!
    You will need:-
Empty Plastic bags/crisp/choccy wrappers/coffee bags must be plastic!Carrier-bags the list go on and on! (If you think it will work try it)
Iron (so thats what color mine is??)
Ironing board (not pictured!Well I don't have one!I use a towel on the side!)
    Grease-proof paper
A good space for working in!
Ideas...bags,cushions, mats wallets you decide and tell me to!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 2
    Step 2

The bags have to be plastic, they can be thick or thin (thin ones you need more layers)Cut off the sections you want to you....or use it all! You can cover the bits you don't want to see with the bits you do! More layers at NO extra expense!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 3
    Step 3

Give the bags a wash, some of them can be quite stinky!
I think the hot-dog ones are, sorry none here thou!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 4
    Step 4

Dry the bags once you have washed them!
Oh! I miss the smell of choccy!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 5
    Step 5

These are some carrier bags that work well 2, but I am not using them 2day.

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 6
    Step 6

Make sure your iron is set for dry? Whatever that means? I know really but I REALLY do hate ironing! I just iron with it! It's only because I use it in craft I have 1!
If any1 had asked me what colour it was up until now I was not to sure?!!!
Do iron in a safe place 2!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 7
    Step 7

While the iron is getting hot, cut a some grease-proof paper so you can iron all the layers 2gether!This will be the top layer which you will iron on!
I may not have ironed 2 much in the past but now i am using that word way 2 much!!!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 8
    Step 8

2day I have found an extra thick bin-bag so I won't have to do layers of carrier bags but it is done in the m same way.......only loads more plastic bags are needed!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 9
    Step 9

Now put the plastic bags with all the stuff you want to see on top of each other! Building up layers,(sandwich)the more layer you have the thicker the plastic will be once fused together!
Then the plastic will be super strong!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 10
    Step 10

With the grease-proof paper on top Iron over the plastic bags...BUT keep the iron moving and peaking under 2 see if the bags have fused together! This way none of your bags should end up like the 1 below!
WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT IRON ONTO THE PLASTIC BAGS THAT ARE NOT COVERED BY GREASE-PROOF PAPER!
    OR YOU'LL BE IN TROUBLE!
    IT DOESN'T MATTER TO ME COS I AM A GROWN-UP (not!yes i aM)AND IT MY IRON 2!!so THERE!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 11
    Step 11

If you keep your iron in one position for 2 long you will end up with this!
MUTANT BURN'T BAG!ONLY FIT FOR THE BIN!and we r trying 2 prevent that!!!
    AND SMELLY TOO!
PLEASE DON'T IRON ONTO THE UNCOVERED PLASTIC!STAY ON THE GREASE-PROOF PAPER!
MELTED BIN-BAG/CRISP PACKET OR CHOCCY WRAPPER ON IRON IS GROSE!
AND HARD TO REMOVE!ONCE MELTED THE PLASTIC IS SUPER HARD TO REMOVE!
KEEP MUM HAPPY!OR IF YOU DO VOLUNTEER 2 DO THE IRONING MORE!!!

  • How to make a fabric. Fused Plastic Bags - Step 12
    Step 12

Done at last! But like everything else I have had somethings that work out first time and others that are a total failure....(well, not really I know not to try that again, and work round it to do better next time!)
Everything I do is unique.Weird and wonderful!
It stops me going crazy....and after I have done something I will go out of my way to try 2 find a use for it!
IF NOT 2 DAY 2 MORROW
    Love and Peace

eeee! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! This is exactly what I was wanting to find after watching a tv segment on fusing plastic bags... except they never covered whether you could use chip/lolly/chocolate wrappers for it. So glad to know I can now attempt this and have it be all colourful!

This tut is how 2 fuse more than one layer of plastic/bags/wrappers to make them thicker and more durable....thus lasting longer and not chucking everything in the bin!
You can make the sheet as big as you like, or a small amount (but I love big sheets!)Cut them in2 manageable sizes to make more bags n stuff!
Once made the sheets can be either sewn 2gother of stuck!
Sounds weird....looks weird but really stretches your imagination, recycles and is cheep and cheerful!
IF THAT KINDA THING FLOATS YOUR BOAT!
See my mis-shaped bag 4 life!(I know doing stuff like this you need 2 get a life.....but it make me happy!)
