Fun wig for Halloween or bad hair day, or just to have FUN!!!
This was a pattern that I made up because I am not advanced enough to do the pattern that I found on line-it gave me more ideas once I was done, though! I knit fun fur wigs for my Mom's dolls, so I love to work with fun fur. Fun fur is SO forgiving, and stretchy, it is easy for me to work with. After I put it on, I was able to pull the bottom of the front points together like a helmet-that gave me even MORE ideas! Have fun with this, I would love to see more versions!

  • Step 1

I am sorry, I took no pictures while I was making this, because I wasn't sure how it would turn out.
I was using my size 13 16" knitting needles for something else, so I went to my size 11's. I had a big skein of orange fun fur-the regular size that you get will probably not be enough for this, you might need two or even three depending on the length you want for your "hair".

  • How to make a wig. Fun Fun Fur Wig - Step 2
    Step 2

I cast on 45 stitches, DO NOT JOIN, this first part if worked as a panel. I just knit until it was about five or six inches-or stop when you have the length you want.

then place a marker, add 15 more stitches (do this however you want, I don't know technical terms for how I did it), join in the round, being careful not to twist the fifteen stitches.

Knit until the added on part, which will be your "bangs" is about 4 1/2 inches.

Knit 8, knit 2 together all the way around

    knit next round

knit 7, knit 2 together all the way around

    knit next row

knit 6, knit 2 together, etc.

    knit next row

knit 5, knit 2 together, etc

    knit next round

knit 4, knit 2 together, etc

at this point, take a needle, thread the rest of the stitches onto it, cinch it tight, and weave in the ends-TADAAAAA!! Fun, huh? I hope this made sense.
