This is one of my favorite things to eat and was also a favorite of Elvis as well as being a southern food.

Step 1
put skillet on the stove turn up to high

Step 2
spread earth balance onto the skillet with the spatula

Step 3
once it starts to sizzle cut up you banana into slices or half's

Step 4
add the banana to the middle of the skillet and sprinkle the sugar on the top

Step 5
turn the banana over and sprinkle again with sugar keep doing this until the each side is brownish looking (caramelized).

Step 6
Serve and eat
You can also add this to two slices of bread that have had peanut butter spread on them for a sandwich.

While camping, I attempted to make these with maple syrup instead of sugar and butter. They wern't as good but, a very interesting alternative.

this is also good with Plantains, which are larger and a bit starchier then bananas. It goes great with latino food and are cuban favorites called : platanos maduros

i use to eat fried bananas all the time in Thailand, i miss them so thanks for the tut. Oh also i look forward to trying them in a sandwich. >_<
