Fluorescent Floppy Disc Lamp

A mod-ish lamp made from seemingly useless floppy discs laying around the house.
While cleaning up our old computer room, I stumbled upon a stack of twenty or 20 floppy dics. Their holes and bright colors were too neat to throw away, so I thought making a lamp from them.

First, we split the discs in two (very easy to do). Just take off the black sliding part and pull the two halves apart.

Then we just glued together three sides and made a base, held together with some cardboard reinforcements.

I found a lamp at a thrift store and took it apart to use it's cord, but we ended up buying a new sockets at home depot anyways.
