About
This yummy-looking wallet may actually cause you to spend more.
I've been itching to make a wallet but all the tutorials either don't fit what I'm looking for or include seriously difficult/crappy instructions. I also don't have a zipper foot, so no zippers for me! Or so I thought...
I stumbled across this tutorial by ShannyAnn on Craftster and I figured I'd try it out.
I only used interfacing once for the body, and nowhere else, and after my experience with it, I never want to use it again. You see that ugly set of creases in the fold of the wallet? That happened after I ironed the finished wallet FLAT. Interfacing was purchased at Michael's.
Attempt number two at sewing a zipper without a zipper foot. I think I did pretty freakin' good!
Fabric: They're fabric quarters from Michael's which were super duper cheap, though I had them lying around anyway.
I thought about giving it to my mother for Christmas, but decided not to and showed it to her. The first thing she says? "Oh, you should've given this to me for Christmas!" And I told her it wouldn't happen since it was really creased and not put together well. She said she didn't care because I made it from scratch, which was more impressive than a perfect wallet. I've decided I'll make her another one after I make a purse organizer for my grandma.
