Clutch felt purse
I love making these purses, they are perfect gifts.
This is a very easy project anyone can make.

Step 1Cut a piece of felt (color of your choice) in a 5" wide strip.

Step 2Fold from bottom 4.5".

Step 3Pin purse in place and blanket stitch around purse.

Step 4Blanket stitching.

Step 5Measure 2.5" in and 3" up from bottom to find placement for button. I used a fabric covered button.

Step 6Cut a hole for the button to fit through. Whipstitch button hole to reinforce it.
-
Step 7You're done!
I added a bird applique to my purse. You can do whatever embellishment you like.

This purse is very useful for carrying jewlery when you're not at home. It can easily fit a large pair of earrings and a necklace. I actually made two, one being for my sister. The other I sent to a soldier in Iraq with a letter inside requesting a pen pal.
