Make Your Own Felt Apple Badge!
Thought I'd try out felt badges for a change - and started with something really simple. :)
Borrowed the template from the lovely book entitled "Felt Friends from Japan" by Naomi Tabatha :)

Step 1First, cut out your desired apple template and your felt pieces in their respective colours: red for the whole apple, cream for the core, dark green for the leaf.
You would also need felt of a contrasting colour (I tried white here) for the backing of the badge.

Step 2Then, position your cream felt (apple core) and sew it using the back stitch onto one half of the red felt (apple whole) with brown embroidery thread.
Nest, use satin stitch in the same brown thread for a teardrop-shaped seed along the inner middle side of the cream (core).

Step 3Stitch the red (whole apple) felt using the back stitch onto the white felt backing (shaped with just a little allowance from the outline of red felt) with matching red embroidery thread.
Stitch the leaf onto the white felt backing using the back stitch.
Finally, use the chain stitch and make about six stitches for the branch that links the apple to its leaf. And you're done! :)
