Make a patchwork belt by knitting fabric.
This is quite a fun project when you get going. You can see it coming together quickly. The thing that takes the time is sewing each strip of fabric together.

I cut horizontally across t-shirts to make loops and loop them together like those plastic address tags. It's way easier than threading on new pieces all the time, plus it's double thickness so you can use a bigger needle.
