Pattern for Ethnic Draped Trousers
Finish the Leg openings (hems). These are the cutaway sections at the bottom corners of the pattern.
Mark points B and C on the bottom edge.
Bring the centre of the bottom edge to point A on the left side. Sew AB to AB.
Do the same with the right side, sewing AC to AC.
Press seams AB and AC open.
Turn in the edges of the opening above A and hem them in place.
Hem the rest of the leg openings.
Fold back the placket along the fold line, matching points DD.
Cut the waistband sections and elastic.
Join the long central waistband section to the shorter end sections, catching the elastic in the seam.
Fold the waistband in half along the edge of the elastic, and turn in the seam allowance on the inside edge of the waistband, and press.
Attach waistband to the top edge of the trousers.
Finish the ends of the waistband.
Stitch in the ditch to hold the back of the waistband in place.
Make buttonholes and attach buttons.
