a cute name tag that can be adapted for any situation
I came up with this idea when I was preparing to sell at my first craft market. I thought a name tag might be helpful to customers and make me more accesible during the day. I wanted the name tag to go with what I was selling and the overall look of my table, so this is what I came up with.

Get your supplies together. You need felt in two colors, coordinating embroidery floss, thin sharpie marker, a needle, pins, and scissors.

You also need a pinback or large safety pin to attach to the back.

First, lightly mark your oval onto the felt you want to back you name tag with. My oval was is about 3 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall in the middle. Then cut out a smaller oval from the front felt.

I used the sharpie to dot a guide to embroider my letters. I separated the embroidery floss and only used 4 strands for my letters. I also just used a simple embroidery straight stitch.

Attach the safety pin to the back by stitching around the side that doesn't open. Stitch through only the back layer of felt when going around safety pin so your stitches don't show through on the front.
