Fancy, embellished shoes can be quite expensive, so here is a great way to turn some cheap shoes into something super stylish.

You Will Need

Step 1Gather your materials. You'll need a cutting board, an art knife, a pencil, fabric glue, toothpicks, paper, black marker, and napkins.

Step 2Choose a pair of shoes that you can easily paint on.

Step 3Start by drawing out a design of choice or alternatively, look up something online and print it out. You just want to make sure that it will fit on the front of your shoe.

Step 4Outline your design in black marker, and photocopy it so you have a couple of back ups.

Step 5Use your art knife to cut out your design. Take your time.

Step 6Viola! You've created a stencil.

Step 7Trace your stencil onto your shoe.

Step 8Stuff the inside of your shoe with tissue so it'll make it easier to paint your design.

Step 9Use your toothpick to paint your design. This is slow work, but the end result is totally worth it.

Step 10Enjoy your finished painted/embellished shoes!
