Your method is so awesome.I used to make falls all the time before I decided I needed to have perminate ones. I hope I remeber this when I go back to hair that I must brush!

quick question though, will these look as good if I don't install them to my hair, but do like falls?

this is great! And so much easier than the method I was using!!! But I'm scared to put them in my wig, so I guess I'm just gonna have to make em, and wait for my hair to grow back >< Thank you for this ^^

Is there a way to only do a couple dreads, instead of your whole head? I am not allowed to get my whole head with dreads, any suggestions for putting a couple dreads in, like placement and care or the dreads?

when you say wash with soap, do you mean the normal stuff you use to wash clothes with?

Looks great and easy! But I've got just one question. Do you need to make shorter dreads for the lower parts of your hair, like the neckline?

Nikkie. I think either type of braid would work but I usually go with the generic 3 strand braid. As for tying it to a chair....um....not sure how to explain it. Basically you can tie the section you are braiding to anything that simulates someone "holding" it for you so you can braid it. Make sense? If not let me know and i will try to do better. =)
Elki. OH MY! That is crazy! I am not sure why the fused together. Did you put them in the washer AND dryer? Or just the washer? If you used the dryer perhaps try washing them and letting them air dry. Or you can hand wash and air dry them. it will take longer but at least they wont all stick. Yikes! Sorry about that! Good luck!!
OKAY EVERYONE!! I WANT PICTURES!!!! =P

I just pulled my dreads out of the pillow case and they have all fused together, I even put a rubber ball in the pillow case to try and stop it. How do you get your dreads, to not fuse and stick together?

I have like...two questions lol When you say braided (i know this sounds stupid lol) do you mean twist braided or generic braided? Just to clarify haha. And when tying one end to the chair, how? xD I sound sooo stupid but yeah. How exactly do you mean? Anyway, this is awesome and I've wanted dreads forever! Thanksss n.n

Sorry I have been away for a WHILE!!! For the last few questions, these are perfect for both thick hair AND short hair. I started wearing them when I cut my hair short because I missed my hair. You just make the dreads DOUBLE THE LENGTH that you want your hair from the root. Just place a band at the end of YOUR hair and let the dread fall into place. TA DA!!! As for tying the dreads off I never found that a problem after washing them. They felt and hold without bands so either way is fine! GOOD LUCK! I WANNA SEE PICS!!!

These sound awesome! Going to give them a go Happy

And if possible, I was wondering, after letting them dry are you safe to remove the ties on either end of the dreads that you used to hold them together in the start?

Thankyou Happy

Would love to see some pictures of this whole process some time if you ever get a chance to take some Happy !!

I've wanted Dreads my entire life also, however, I've seen too many horror stories ... and was totally lacking the commitment (also, recently i cut my hair quite short... )
I was just wondering, how one would (if it's possible) use this method as extensions, I realise you have to braid the 'dreads' with your natural hair, but I was hoping to make dreads quite longer than my own hair - is this possible?

This is great! I'm totally going to do this for halloween. But does it work well on very thick hair? I'd imagine that I'd have to make more braids, maybe more like 60 than 30?

Yay, I'm glad I stumbled upon this! Thank you for posting. I've tried to get my puny amount of hair to support the large clump of dread falls and just cant do it. Although this takes more time, it's waay worth it. Looks ahmazing and I think my hair will let me do it! Now, if I can just bribe a family member to help me, I've got faire work coming up...
