The Paper Doll's Dream House - First Attempt
I had spent a lot of time looking at dollhouses and paper dolls from my childhood (I had multiple sets over the those years from Princess Di to various Barbie themes and more) and decided to combine the two. For this one I combined magazine pictures cut out and rearranged (collage style with Mod Podge and clear tape where needed) on pages in a book I made from paper with a card stock cover. I have so many more ideas for other books. The options seems nearly endless, cheap, and totally portable.

The Cover. (I made the book with sheets of paper and a card stock cover, but you could use a book already made. Recycle.)

The Dolls. (These were made from pictures cut out of old magazines and secured to a card stock. I chose the dolls first and then found pictures that were of the right size for them.)

For an extra play I cut some of the doors in the kitchen so that they would open to reveal typical kitchen items (food, etc).

Making sure every room had places to hold the dolls was important for play, view, and transportation.

I didn't make clothes for the dolls (when using paper cut out from magazines it is a little hard), but a closet wardrobe that open to store clothes would be a great addition if you have use paper dolls drawn or printed from various online sites.

i love it...do you have a closet to put all the doll clothes in? i would think finding the right sizes for the dolls and house and clothes would be the hardest of it all. I am going to have to think about this a while but i too had paper dolls. My kids have grown but I am getting ready for a grand daughter some day...one can dream! LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea!
