DIY superhero cape.
Every little boy or girl loves a superhero. Making a Superhero cape is pretty easy and it gives you a bit or creative license! Make it different to all of those cheap looking ones you can buy in the $2 shop.
All you need is a couple of pieces of scrap fabric about 1/2meter each and and a little imagination.
Here is what I did to make this Bat Boy Cape.

    Step 1

Just find two pieces of fabric (about half a meter) and fold in half.
On each piece, trace off a neck line on the fold. I traced off an old cape that was falling apart. This neckline was 10". Then draw a line diagonally down from the edge of the neck line until it meets the selvages. My line was 17" but you can make it as short or as long as you like.

Then trace off a nice curve along the bottom until it squares up with the fold. My line was approx 25". Once you think you are happy with how it looks then cut both pieces of fabric.

    Step 3

Find a template of any Super Hero logo that you want. I traced my bat using a picture from the web.
Cut out and iron on some interfacing to give it some body. Attach your Superhero applique onto another piece of fabric. I cut out an oval shape in a contrast colour to make it stand out more.

Cut out 4 x pieces of fabric for straps approx 17' x 2'. Sew right sides together leaving an opening in one end and then turn inside out. Attach by sandwiching between the cape and lining (right sides together) at neck edges.

    Step 6

Right sides together, sew all the way around the cape making sure the straps are tucked inside. Leave an opening to pull the cape back through on itself.
    Edge stitch the opening closed.
