• 

  Step 1

  Polymer Clay - Brand and color of your choosing
  Sculpting Tools - Razors and toothpicks work well or you can buy a set of tools at your craft store.
  Roller - I used my kitchen mini roller from Pampered Chef...I don't cook ;)
  Baking sheet - for baking your clay on
  Jewelry Making Notions - chain, clasp & jump rings
  Jewelry pliers
  Sparrow template - found online

  Step 2

  I found a drawing of a sparrow I liked on the internet, printed it and cut it out to use as my template. You could also make a leaf, feather, flower or roll the clay into beads. Be unique and make it your own!

  Step 3

  Warm the clay up with your fingers.

  Step 4

  Roll the clay out into an even layer, about 1/4 inch thick.

  Step 5

  Using either a razor or knife sculpting tool cut your sparrow template out of the clay. You can then use a scoring tool or a toothpick to create some texture to the wings to give it the illusion of feathers. Clean up around your edges if needed.

  Step 6

  Using toothpicks (I used eye pins from my stash ) poke holes into the clay where the jump rings will be inserted to attach to the necklace chain.

  Step 7

  Place clay pendant on a baking sheet and bake according to package directions. I baked mine at 230 degrees for 30 minutes.

  Step 8

  Using your jewelry pliers insert your jump rings into the holes of your pendant and attach to your necklace chain. Make the chain length to your liking and attach your clasp. If the edges on your pendant are a little rough you can lightly sand those with some fine grit wet/dry sandpaper.
  I had a tiny little purple rose in my jewelry making stash so I attached it to the wing using E6000 glue.
