To keep all my fabrics and paper tidy
Continuing my great tidy-up! I love mod podge! A new discovery for me, and the art shop behind my house sells it ^squeak of joy^
Tip: Use boxes that have quite loose fitting tops, as you need to allow for 2 layers of denim after covering the box and lid.

  • Step 1

Cut legs of old pair of jeans up the inside leg seams, and cut off the legs to give two large (depending on size of previous owner!) pieces.

  • Step 2

Buy a couple of cardboard organiser boxes and paint with glue, sticking large pieces of denim as you go and smoothing out any wrinkles.

  • Step 3

Take a selection of flattish buttons and decoupage with paper using mod podge or other glue. I then varnished/sealed mine with mod podge

  • Step 4

Stick decorated buttons to the front of the box with superglue/hot glue.

I used PVA school glue to glue the denim as it is much cheaper than mod podge and it took quite a lot.

very cool. I have tons of jeans that are too big for me now and tons of boxes full of random crap. Thanks for the project!

Wow! I love this! I keep my small fabric pieces in a dull shoe box which could use some decoration : )

Did you glue the denim on the boxes with mod podge? Or with other glue?

Those look fantastic, it's amazing to think they're DIY. I could imagine paying loads for these in a shop.
