About
Super Easy throw pillows for a quick and cheap design piece.
I just moved into a new home, and plan to be here for a while (as my job requires me to move a lot). So I finally started to think up some cheap, quick ideas on how to decorate my own house using my sewing skills. This whole project cost me about 12ish dollars. It could easily be done cheaper if you already have some of the supplies.
As for the project, I made 2 pillows, each measuring about 19x19" with the checks on the front and the back just a simple flat black I had left over from an old project. I for the stuffing 50% off at Joanns, and quarters are only 1.99 there, or cheaper at walmart (limited colors though). Out of 3 fat quarters (1 of each color), the back fabric and maybe 20 oz. of stuffing I made 2 pillows.

Step 9
Cut a 19"x19" piece of fabric for the back.
-
Step 10
If you are making a pillow cover, and would like a zipper, continue to step 11. If you are stuffing this pillow and do not wish to have a zipper, continue to step 15.
-
Step 15
Fold back so that right sides are together again, Matching corners. Pin and sew all the way around remaining areas. (if you did not have a zipper, leave an opening big enough for your hand to fit in on one of the sides. if you did have the zipper, make sure all of the other 3 sides are closed. The zipper will allow for filling.)
Turn right side out. Put in pillow, or fill with fluff. Either slip stitch, hand stitch or machine edge stitch the opening for filling closed.
