How to recycle those art calenders at the end of the year
I bought a new sewing/craft box that looked a bit boring, so thought I'd use the pictures from a Klimt calender I couldn't bear to throw out.

  • Step 1

Paste the whole box with gold tissue paper glued with pva (make sure glue dries clear and not white). Use the brush to smooth out paper.

  • Step 2

Cut out your favourite pictures/parts of pictures and glue over the top of the tissue paper in the same way.

  • Step 3

Allow to dry and varnish with a clear glossy varnish to protect the pictures and create a nice lacquered finish.

The paper was quite thick and I was a bit concerned too, but it was fine. Thank you for the comments! PS Candace - I loved your supergirl bag too!

This reminds me of how boring my sewing box actually is! It's plain wood, even no paint on it. AND I have a bunch of calendars too nice to just use as garbage...
Yours is SO beautiful now!
How thick was your calendar paper? Don't know if my calendars are thin enough for glueing....
