I just did this with an old long sleeve shirt I was going to throw away because it had holes in it. Turned it into a funky singlet and love it's new lease on life!
I love this project. I tried it out, and the results are just fantastic, I get soooo many compliments on the shirt! My mom wants me to make her one! (I'll post it as a version after my sunburn heals, haha. I got it wearing the shirt!)
I was just wondering, how do you wash yours? My washer has a habit of tangling, tearing, and otherwise wrecking things with strings (spaghetti-strap shirts, shirts with strings that tie up in the back, nighties, and the strings on my satin robe have all suffered the wrath of my washing machine) I don't want my lovely shirt to be destroyed, would handwashing be my only option, or should I maybe try stuffing it in a pillowcase or something and hope for the best? What do you do? I'm planning on having a drawer of tastefully thrashed shirts, I want them all to last as long as possible
Whoa thanks! I saw this on my Forever 21 "I <3 my boyfriend" shirt, and I literally started at it for a while wondering how it was cut and folded! Thanks!!
For washing, I always put them in a laundry bag and they come out fine for me
For sizes, I think it would work on tight or loose t-shirts, the effect just comes out differently!
Thanks for all the love!! <3 <3
