You Will Need
-
Step 1
ok so wut u want to do is make 18 traditional granny squares. i think i used a size J crochet hook. and with that you are going to make like 2 rows on each. as in the picture you saw.
-
Step 2
now that you have made all your granny squares u want to assemble them. i did the opposite on the bak of it. then you sew them together leaveing one side open.
-
Step 3
once you have sewn your squares together you then get your fabric. i didnt use an exact messurement because i wasnt thinking and i never do things correctly. so what i did was took the fabric and layed it on a flat surfice i then took my sewn granny pocket and placed it ontop. then take a pencil and trace it. BUT leave about an inch or so on the out side edges. then you cut it out and you want to cut 2 of the squares out.
-
Step 4
then you take and sew the squares together to make a new pocket and once again leaving one side open. i sewed the fabric along the presser foot of my sewing machine. and when you hem it i think i did 1/4 or an inch. when you have your hem pined down you sew it along the very edge.
-
Step 5
now comes the tricky part. it took me 3 tries to get it right lets see if you're not as blonde as i am. you take the fabric and turn it right side out. then you take your granny squares and flip them wrong side out and place it into the fabric pocket.
-
Step 6
next you make your straps. i used an old big t-shirt and what i did was took my tape messure and put it around my shoulders to see how long i would want. i used a yard stick and the one i used was about an inch thick so i doubled it to 2 inches wide on the fabric. then i cut it out and folded it in half (going long ways) want sewed down the side. then i turned it inside out and ironed the stitch part in the middle. i then went and sewed down both sides of it.
-
Step 7
now you take your strap and place it between the fabric and granny squares. then all you do is top stitch it down and then flipped it and there you have a bag! :)
-
Step 8
i cant explain to you how to add a zipper because it is hard for me to explain. i am sorry so you are probably going to have to look it up on youtube.
