Giddy up!
Doing these for a baby shower, but much smaller as in centerpiece size. So they probably wont fit any newborns. But the original pattern is for newborn to 3 months if you want to follow along with the video Hectanooga1 is your gal, credit to her.

    Notes: Okay I broke the pattern down a bit, and once again credit given to Hectanooga1

    Ch 1 doesn't count as stitch
    Sl st in 1st sc
    and leave a long tail to sew hat into shape

    Ch 5, sl st to join, ch1

    R1- 10sc in ring, sl st to join, ch1 and turn
    R2- 2sc in each (20),sl st to join, ch1 and turn
    R3- sc in each (20), sl st to join, ch1 and turn
    R4- 2sc in each (40), sl st to join, ch1 and turn
    R5-16(or more depend on how long you want it)- sc in each (40),sl st to join Fasten off

    Making Band/Brim
    Note: Chain color by attaching slst (doesn't count as stitch)
    Start with 2sc always

    R17- In different color, attach FLO 2 sc in next st, sc in next * (60), sl st to join, fasten off
    R18- Attach, sc in each (60), sl st to join, ch1 and turn
    R19- 2sc in every 4sc* (72), sl st to join, ch1 and turn
    R20- sc in each (72), sl st to join, fasten off
    R21- Attach, sc in each (72), sl st to join, fasten off.

    Sew in long tail by pinching the top of the hat to form the cow boy dip look, and emblish as you like, remember that the number of rows may vary if you do choose to add more row at R5-16+. Happy crocheting!
