Tea Pot Coaster
A simple hot pot coaster. I use it when having my hot cup of tea or coffee in my garden.

  • How to make a pot holder / pot stand. Coaster - Step 1
    Step 1

    - prepare backing fabric.
    - prepare batting.
    - prepare anti-slip fabric too.

    Step 2

    - cut the hexagon print as attachment.
    - put it on your favourite fabric.
    - cut it with extra about 1/4"
    - sew it roughly to firm the print on the paper print.(called tacking or basting stitch

    - sew the hexagon together.
    *put two hexagons right to right side and sew it on the edge of the fabric but avoiding the paper.

    Step 4

    - You will get one as the picture shown or sew more hexagon to make bigger.
    - remove the thread which you sewed roughly earlier.
    - remove the paper inside too.

    - You get the clean one as picture shown.

    Step 6

    - iron the one-side adhesive batting to the back of the hexagons
    - trim it to you favourite shape of coaster.
    - sew the backing fabric and anti-slip to make "sandwich"

    - cut a bias according to the size of your coaster.

    Step 8

    - sew the bias around the coaster. (face right side to right side)

    Step 9

    - turn the bias to the back and blind stitch it. (hemstitch)
