This is based on another project here by Emily K, which can be found below. Here's how to add a stem and some leaves!

    Step 1

I had already made my rose bloom using Emily K.'s how-to. Setting that aside, I gathered my other supplies.

Next, I rolled out a ball of green clay about the size of the inside of my palms.

I flattened my ball into a pancake shape after that :).

Taking your Xacto knife, cut out two general leaf shapes. You may have to re-roll and re-flatten your clay to get the second leaf, which is what I had to do.

I only ended up using one toothpick, instead of two. You can use two if you want the leaves spread farther apart or more stucture. For my method, I inserted the toothpick through one side of each of the leaves so that they stacked on top of themselves and spread the leaves apart to make them look a bit more "natural."

    Step 6

Insert the end of the toothpick closest to your leaves into the bottom of your already made clay rose, like shown. Push up just a little to prevent the toothpick from falling out. Be careful, however, not to push it up so far that it'll show through the rose.

    Step 7

Re-roll and re-flatten what's left of your green clay. Then, carefully wrap the green around the exposed toothpick. Then, squeeze the clay until the stem is to your liking. Remove any excess from the bottom of your stem.

Your finished product should look something like this and the pictures above. Of course, your bloom might be smaller... I got a little carried away with adding petals. Have fun :)!
