1)use an old/unwanted paintbrush, the bleach ate mine...
2)make sure you do this outside incase of accidental bleach spillage (no one wants that now do we?)
3)do not touch your face/eye area whilst doing this for bleach does not feel nice
4)wear old clothes

    place your shoes in the sun to dry or if you are impatient, i suppose you could use a hairdryer.

    while waiting for my shoes to dry i made shoelaces by cutting strips of an old tshirt and then put colored duct-tape on the ends
