Dark, Sweet and shiny!

People seemed to really like my bleeding heart eye patch, so I decided to make a tutorial for a similar eye patch. The main differences are:
a) size of the rhinestones
and
b) the felt from the bleeding heart eye patch had been painted.

  • How to make an eye patch. Black Heart Valentine Eyepatch! - Step 1
    Step 1

Choose shape of eyepatch. Make sure you make it big enough to actually cover your eye! I decided on a heart. To make sure the eyepatch is thick enough to be structural, I made two in contrasting felts in different sizes.

Layer felts and figure out how the felts should sit.

Take out your E-6000 in a WELL VENTILATED AREA. Adhere felts.

Decide which eye you'd like your eyepatch to sit on! This effects the way you'll punch it. Take out you leather punch (omnomnom!) if you've got it. You're going to want to set the holes diagonally.

See how I did it? It's for the right eye. Sorry about the flash blow out, but this was the best way to convey the INFORMATION.

Take out your charms! Mine are hand charms. Blue moon was selling them about a year ago. Take your needle/thread and secure the charms to your eye patch. Alternatively, you can set them with wire or a chain loop. I found this method to be simpler.

Hold the patch up to your eye and measure the distance around your head, meeting at the free end of your charms. Attach chain to each of the free ends. I'd put the clasp towards the middle of the back of the head. For this example I used a magnetic clasp, since that's what I had lying around.
