About
Spring time jewelry!
While fishing on the river recently, I looked around at the plants surrounding me and had this idea. I stripped some young, flexible sprigs off of the nearest tree and began winding it and twisting it into a srt of nest shape. I made 9 of them and threw them into my tackle box to dry. When I got home, they were relatively stiff, so I started playing with some ideas.

Step 1
Twist your sprigs into nests. Sort of just weave the tip in and out around itself, gently, until it takes shape.
-
Step 2
Allow to dry for a day or so.
-
Step 3
Using strong thread, or like I did, with fishing line, thread the beads through, and also thread the line through a pill of polyfill stuffing that you can roll into a small ball between your fingers.
-
Step 4
Tie the fishing line into a knot in the back of the nest. I put one end between my teeth and gently pulled with some pliers on the other end.
-
Step 5
To make the leaves, I used seed beads. Make sure that the first bead you thread has a hole large enough that the line can go back through it. Thread 5 or 7 beads on to it, then thread the line back through the first bead and pull snug. Do this as many times as you want, and tie the line again to secure. Snip close to the knot, then hang from some earrings and enjoy!
