Crochet an amigurumi panda cub
After seeing the pandas at Edinburgh zoo, I was inspired to try amigurumi for the first time and make a little panda cub.

Step 1
Body
Row 1: Chain 6, then join with slip stitch, pulling the tail tight to close. DC into each stitch around (6 stitches)
Row 2: 2 dc into each stitch around (12 stitches)
Row 3: 2 dc into first stitch, 1 dc into next stitch, 1 dc into next stitch and repeat to the end of the row (18 stitches)
Row 4: 2 dc into first stitch, 1 dc into next stitch, 1 dc into next stitch and repeat to the end of the row (24 stitches)
Row 5: dc in each stitch around.
Row 6: dc in each stitch around.
Row 7: 1 dc into next stitch, decrease, 1 dc into next stitch and repeat to the end of the row (18 stitches)
Row 8: decrease, 1 dc into next stitch and repeat to the end of the row (12 stitches)
Row 9: 1 dc into next stitch, decrease, 1 dc into next stitch and repeat to the end of the row (6 stitches)
Bind off, leaving a long tail. -
Step 2
Head
Row 1: Chain 4, then join with slip stitch, pulling the tail tight to close. DC into each stitch around (4 stitches)
Row 2: 2 dc into each stitch around (8 stitches)
Row 3: 2 dc into first stitch, 1 dc into next 2 stitches and repeat to the end of the row (12 stitches)
Row 4: 2 dc into first stitch, 1 dc into next 2 stitches and repeat to the end of the row (16 stitches)
Row 5: 2 dc into first stitch, 1 dc into next 2 stitches and repeat to the end of the row (20 stitches)
Row 6: dc in each stitch around.
Row 7: 1 dc in first 2 stitches, dc decrease, repeat (16 stitches)
Row 8: dc decrease, 1 dc in first 2 stitches and repeat until the end of the row (12 stitches)
Row 9: 1 dc in first 2 stitches, dc decrease, repeat (8 stitches)
Row 10: dc decrease, 1 dc in first 2 stitches and repeat until the end of the row (4 stitches)
