Cutest lil Cuppy Cakes
I make these to give to friends as bday gifts and they love them! My sister called them cuppy cakes when she was younger and I thought that was cute; hence the tagline.
Amigurumi mainly uses basic crochet stitches and are crocheted int he round. Once you get a feel for it, it is fun, easy and they are adorable. If you are a crochet newb, I would suggest purchasing an amigurumi book because majority of them have a helpful section on the basics, hook sizes, different stitches, increases and decreases, etc. Very useful info for any crochet project.
I used the book Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet by Paula Rímoli. She actually used seed beads on the frosting area but I didn't have any so I improvised. I also cut a small circle out of cardboard and placed it at the bottom of the of the cupcake cup so it sat more sturdily. And instead of sewing the frosting to the cup, I just weaved the yarn through the top because it seemed easier.
