we made half with chocolate filling and half with buttercream

ah, well first i mixed the butter and caster sugar together (100g of each) then gradually added 100g of flour, 2 eggs and 1tbsp of milk and the vanilla extract...when i had the cake mixure done i just separated it into cupcake cases and popped them in the oven for about 10 minutes (i tested to see if the middles were cooked by pressing a knife in to see if it came out clean)...the vanilla extract is optinal and of course you can decorate them however you like, but i also used a recipe for buttercream using butter and caster sugar (i know you're supposed to use icing sugar, but i like the texture more and its less sweet that way)...for the chocolate filling i just used normal store-bought chocolate spread
