I found out it was my best friend's boyfriend who left the fruit loops, he found a store on his way to work that sells them in little pots, so he bought me some and left them as a surprise. such a nice man.
Suzy we have something similar but they are flat, not straws, but I can still send you a selection of the flat ones (asteriod belts) and the pixie stix which are little plastic straws filled with sherbet if you'd like.

Have a look here : http://www.americansweets.co.uk/index.asp

They do sell them - but at a price! Along with Reeses mmmmmmmmmm

Sweet shops are popping up everywhere at the moment - selling 'traditional' sweets, I know there is one in Bristol that specialises in american sweets (again Reeses mmmmmmm and lots of peanut butter chocolate delights!)

Reidergirl: Sure, I can do a candy swap with you. Are there any candies from the US you'd like? Or would you prefer some more cereal?

Popular candies where I'm from:

m&ms (but they'll probably melt)

skittles

jolly ranchers

tootsie rolls but they're gross!
I don't recomend them.

3 musketeers

Now and laters are pretty good

and... I just remembered I forgot to buy halloween candy for trick or treaters.

I wasn't really bothered about swapping I was just gonna send you some sweets, but that's even better, anything you'd like to send would be fine, although I do love those red licorice things (the twisted sticks) and butterfingers.
@Julie g. yeah they have started popping up in Blackburn too, although mainly it's old fashioned British sweets like pineapple cubes and lovehearts and aniseed balls, stuff like that.

Yep it seems the answer to the recession is sweets! (bring it on!)

Yah, we have twizzlers. I haven't seen butterfingers in a while but I'll look.
