im not sure but i just realised that for every swap except chunky book i used jiffy bags for the items protection, so that could be why. I'll be sending what i want to send in one of them because they are so much sturdier then an envelope going overseas. i got a bag i ordered the other day and it was wrapped in ONLY brown paper and the paper had holes in it where it had got caught on things. this only came from scotland

I have mostly used jiffy bags or boxes to send, apart from chunky book and happygrams. Up to now everything has got to its destination ok. I'm really worried about chunky book though, as they don't seem to have got to anyone outside the UK yet.

Nikki: Debs & I are swapping something more letter shaped,sized & weight rather than parcel/packet sized thus avoiding the customs form bit. Its a separate swap from the Stash & Craft Swap, u can use whatever size u like for that. Hope we didn't confuse anyone!!

You gals have me soooo confused on what size of envelope everyone is sending. 0_0 I have no idea what an A4 size is. Can I get some Length x Width x Height demensions please. Lol Thanks ^_^

yep they have suceeded in confusing me too. a4, erm a regular size piece of paper. roughly 30cm by about 20cm
c4 is an envelope which should hold something a4
a3 is twice the size of a4, a5 is half the size.

also some companies name their brand of envelopes with sizes like size 1,2,3 etc, i'm not so sure about them.

Mary can you say size and weight to confirm it when you post partners please.

I think we are all quite confused about this. I thought this swap was more about just sending 1 thing in an appropriately sized envelope, not stuffing as much in as possible (unlike destash swap. Then your partner best uses their creative abilities to make something?

For the benefit of Pammerz/ Libby/ Nikki, I refer to my previous statement in the hope of clearing this up Happy

Debs & I are also doing a personal swap where the brief was business-sized envelope and less than 1oz in weight thus avoiding the customs form bit. Its a completely separate swap from the Stash & Craft Swap. Sorry for any confusion we caused anyone!!

Also, Nikki, the US contingent don't have A4! Their letter-size is 8.5x11" / 216 × 279mm whereas our UK A4 is slightly different at 210 x 297mm.

Right, partners! Are you ready? ^_____^

I'm a bit upset because I wanted to do this in a more spectacular manner, one involving the camcorder I got for my birthday, but apparently I can shoot a video and edit it, but my PC won't bear the rendering process for lack of RAM memory. Which is annoying. Ah well, it's going to be for next time.

First of all I wanted to THANK YOU ALL because we had 15 people signing up, which is a huge response! I'm so glad you liked the idea Happy

As we have an odd number of people we should be doing a three-way but, for the way the swap is set up, I don't think a three-way is suitable. Therefore (*a-rhump*) I decided I'm going to swap with two people, one in the US and one in Europe, evening the numbers. Sorry guys, host privileges Tongue

As far as the envelope's size is concerned: yes, there are international sizes, but apparently North America works on its own sizes. So, for the people in Europe the size is going to be an international C5 (162 x 229 mm, fits an A4 paper folded in half once) and for the people in the US is going to be an A10 (Willow, 6 x 9.5 inches). The envelope can be either a paper one or a padded one, depending on what you're sending. Of course you don't have to fill it up, especially if you're sending smaller things Happy
