Instead of cutting right through all of the fur and the underlayer of supportive fabric, slip your scissors underneath the fur to avoid losing a lot of it.

It'll take some practice to get used to doing it, but in the end it'll save a lot of the faux fur from falling out.

Also, if you've never sewn with it before, brush the fur away from the edge of the fabric before you start sewing so that your seams won't be as noticeable.

I like So LaLa's solution Happy

You can also comb the fur out of the way and use tape to hold it in place while you cut it.

After sewing use a teasle brush to fluff the fur back into the right place and to hide the seams. The brush is about the size of a nail brush with fine metal teeth. The ends are bent over so it doesn't rip into fabric. Can also be used for other fabrics with a nap, like velvet.

Good luck

I think im going to try So LaLa's way and tape the fur back like Sheila A said.
Lol i hadn't even thought about what i was going to do when i sew it so thanks for pointing that out Monika!

No problem. I'd like to see the finished product Happy
Also, once it's all sewn together, if there are any really visible seams that have trapped fur in them, you can take either a comb or a soft bristle brush and gently comb the fur strands out from the seams.
