Uses for unusable items...

I have a stack of small floppy disks and a huge stack of blank cassette tapes and I need to find some craft projects so I can use up these things.

Here are the ideas I've come across so far for each of them:
FLOPPY DISKS: fabric covered magnets, photo magnets, plain magnets, coasters, earrings (from the insides), bill clips (from the metal clip on the outside, pen holders, small books/journals & photo cubes.
CASSETTE TAPES: cassette stamped shirts, using the tape to crochet/knit items, & tiny books/journals.

I know I'm definitely going to do the Plain Disk Magnets and the Cassette Stamped Shirts. The other projects, just don't interest me.

If anyone has any input or more ideas, please let me know! I don't want to just throw these items away! Thanks for your help!

I have some floppys aswell that I want to use. I said to a friend I would make a mobile out of them (they were windows 3.11 disks I thought it would be funny) years ago and they are still sitting on my shelf Happy

Thanks for the link, I checked them out and I love their various projects.

I decided on making giant magnets out of the discs! My hubby and I are such geeks it would work perfectly! I'm going to use 5 round magnets on each one (1 in the center, 1 in each corner) to make them super strong.

Other than that I'm lost! hehehehehhehe

coasters, you couldl shred the disks and use the pieces in clay or paper mache. randomly break a few up, heat up a needle put holes in them, get some fishing line, and you have a moble you can hang in a window that will reflect light. you can get really creative and try to cut shaps, but good luck on that. if you can get the "siliver" pealed off, you can use them to make "frames".

you could use the casette tape as buckle for a belt.. or make a belt by just attaching a lot to eachother.. oh or you could give them to me XD
you could also cover like a whole wall or table or something with them.. if you have lots of time
