Flights of Fancy (advice)

Hello!

I am new to the site and lurving all of the creative inspiration.

I am throwing a baby shower with a birds/owls/trees theme and was wondering if anyone had any great ideas. Already planning on: a bird mobile, tree cut-outs, baby bird cupcakes.

I wanted to use birdhouses for the table centerpieces. I have been looking for reasonably priced, unfinished wood birdhouses...that could be painted and decorated to match everything else. Does anyone have a good idea on where I could find these? (even an online source...as I have plenty of time before the shower.)

you could always take the "recycle" route. shoe boxes, milk cartons, coffee cans (plastic ones) even just taking cardboard boxes to cut and paste uniform bird houses.

you could always have several different items, and have the guests decorate and make their very own bird houses to bring home as a keep sake of the shower.

isn't this site the BOMB?? i love it. all the wonderful ideas, not enough time in the day!!!

As like cute gifts to the people attending you could always put together like birds nests and have candy eggs in it. Just threw that idea in there.

you could make bird decals to hang on the walls i know people have them on this site, could make a pine cone wreath, or pick up a packet of feathers and line the table or...light fixture...whatever comes to mind (my mind is dead right now...nearly midnight)
