Tagging projects
When creating a project and tagging it (the final step) does anyone find that they can't get the tags they want to use? I've had that with other projects, it says "Type in all the themes and inspiration for your project. Books, movies, TV shows, cartoon characters, animals etc." but if it doesn't come up you can't tag it. For example, I made some stars out of felt, what inspired me was xmas and stars I wanted to give as gifts. now christmas was already an option to tick, and I ended up choosing space and that was it. Some of the things that came up when I was typing in were a bit odd. i wanted to have something like happiness, because the faces were happy.
Also the first category (the first step) was a bit odd when I had to choose what I had made was. It ended up as wall decor hangings. It's just a cute star that fits in my hand, can go anywhere.
It's annoying that we can't add our own categories and tags like we can materials/ingredients when making a project.
part of the tagging process is to help us find similar things later. there's a ton of different names for things that go around you neck (choker, necklace, bangle...) and if everyone named their own it'd be difficult to search for necklaces.
I know that but when trying to say what inspired you its tricky because you can only choose from what is already there.
But how are you supposed to tag a plushie that is also a bag? its not possible to chose both.
I know what you mean. I often do "inspired by" projects and I would like to use my own tags. What I do is try to use the tags that are more generalized. For example, when I make something that was inspired by a top designer or brand name, I use the "Designer popular stuff" tag. I also use the "Cut out and keep" tag too. Hope that helps.
It'd be nice if we could submit tags for approval. I've made fan inspired stuff like my Discworld Luggage that couldn't be tagged because it's not in the list.
