    What you're describing sounds like a very special kind of Bail. A bail is used as a decorative piece, and it can open up to allow the charm or pendant to hand off of it but I've never heard of a bail actually locking a necklace in place. (If that's what your saying)

    oh my gosh! she can work with wood! (i know i'm being stupid, but...) thats freak'n awesome!
    i want to work with wood but:
    1.) my parents won't let me.
    2.) we don't have the space to do so
    3.) my sister has asthma
    4.) i'm really messy and would make a big mess
    I think that its amazing that she can do that
