I'm going for a Fashion and Textiles qualification at college in Farnborough - check it out, it's called a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Fashion and Clothing, that would be a good way to start off your career!

ARGH I had exactly the same thing...it's called Hook Timing Fix and here's a video on how to fix it...my dad spent forever fixing it, but in the end we bought a new machine for my birthday + Christmas present this year

    Hey guys,
I've been looking around (pretty much everywhere) for apprenticeships in dressmaking which I could apply for in September 2015, but I can't seem to find any. I've found a few college courses but I would prefer to do an apprenticeship because that would suit me better.
Does anyone know of any that are available?
    Thanks! x

I made one of these (haven't posted a version yet!) out of a sleeve of an old orange t-shirt. It went well, actually! ^^ You could maybe make one out of an orange 'patchwork', or maybe a different animal/design out of whatever scraps you've got?

    Hope this helps! x

Haha, I never measured a hem in my life! I use the 'pinky finger trick'...you know, half of a nail is 1/2 a cm?
I also have about 4 pairs of fabric scissors and WAY too many pin-cushions ^^
