A big Birmingham-based hello!

Hi everyone, I'm Laura, a craftophile from Birmingham, UK. I've been using CO+K for a few years now, but I didn't actually realise there were message boards! D'oh! But now I'm here, I'm hoping to be able to keep up with the crafting community a bit more. I dabble in a few crafts - pottery, card-making, crochet, jewellery-making - but I'm always on the lookout for more! I really want to learn to sew, in particular, so that I can make my own clothes. I'm not a standard shape (but then, who is??) so knowing how to adjust garments myself would be awesome! Sewing

I've only ever posted one tutorial on here - I have a terrible habit of making something and only realising once it's made that I really should have taken some process photos to share! Must try harder. Anyway, I'm off to find more crafty inspiration! Computer

Hey, thanks Kylie! I've barely been online all week so only just saw your reply. Following a small amount of CO+K stalking, I see you're a bit of a sewing genius - I'm hugely envious; sewing seems to be one of the few crafts that I just can't get the hang of (I'm also one of those people who picks most things up very quickly, so this is massively annoying for me!). I'm looking for some local workshops at the mo, though, so hopefully I'll get the hang of it...!

well im just finishing my mental health course and hoping to go to some craft workshops and try some new skills. Also going to have a go at embroidery

Argh, keep forgetting to check back on the message board for replies - sorry! Not being intentionally rude! Are there any settings for getting email notifications about new messages? Must explore this possibility...

Hiiii Laura ... I hear you re: sewing! One of my big wishes is to learn how to create a template from a favourite item (without chopping it up!) so I can make multiple copies for me to wear *haha*
