GTA IV

It looks good doesn't it - [url:8bdf6]http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/[/url:8bdf6] Winter will be an expensive season, what with the iPhone and needing to buy a PS3 to play this. I'm going to need a high paid job and fast.

Neither the PS3 nor the iPhone are gonna be worth the money that's charged for them. Which is a pity since I want them both desperately

You don't need a PS3 for GTA IV. It will be out the same day for 360 with exclusive downloadable content for the platform. Bear in mind an Xbox 360 price drop is imminant and Sony is unlikley to follow suit. Also its incredibly likley that the trailer was running on a 360 since they already had the engine (RAGE[/url:e4e92]) up and running for the table tennis game. Plus you'd still be able to sing, Tom could play guitar, I could play bass and Nathan could play drums all online by playing Rock Band[/url:e4e92]!!!

Or I could start an actual band. The XBox has too many buttons for my liking.

It has exactly the same number of buttons as the PS3 controller actually.

As far as Rock Band goes, I think the idea of it is just to have fun, jam with a load of people from around the world and is also quite accessible to loads more people than just learning an instrument.

I not trying to start a huge argument, I'm just trying to save you hundreds of pounds, which might be worth getting used to a new controller for! Especially since you can play all the same games anyway.

More and more nowadays games which used to be playstation only are being released on multiple platforms. I think its to do with games costing more to make and xbox being more popular nowadays, it just make financial sense for companies to do it.

If you want to play GTA IV when it comes out in October, the Xbox 360 is the cheapest and IMO the most sensible way to do it. Plus you would have more money to spend on iPhones etc.

Yes, from what I can tell the 360 is functionally identical to the PS3 and a lot cheaper. The problem with the PS3 is that the technology it uses is both expensive and difficult to use effectively, while not actually being much more powerful than that in the 360 to begin with.

It is still, for the moment, a cheap Blu-Ray player, should you want one of those, though.

I'm not against the xbox, I'm just unfamiliar with it and it looks confusing to me. I'll buy whatever has singstar on it. I just don't like the idea of playing a little plastic guitar with buttons over learning to play a real guitar. Kids will never reach their full potential by playing a game over doing something creative.

Oh, I agree with that totally, but it's not really meant to be creative or anything, it's just meant to be fun. And it is fun.

And I think that most of these rhythm-style games (Donkey Konga, Guitar Hero, etc.) actually give you a really good understanding of meeting a rhythm, too.
