What got you into crafting?
How did you get started at what you love to create? Have you always created? Did you take a class? See a picture of a project that inspired you to make it? Need something to do in your free time?
I've always done some type of crafts as I grew up. I loved art in school. I had stopped creating things for a while when I first got married and then when we were expecting our son I picked it up again and made a baby quilt for him. Then, I stopped again for many years, but when he got older I decided I needed something to enjoy for myself again and started paper crafting. Since then I've never stopped. It has become a big part of my relaxation time. I've always got a project on my desk or in my hand. I've even taken them on trips to the barbeque contests my husband judges and worked on them in the car, at picnic tables and have been known to use the tailgate on our vehicle as a table a time or two.
Great question @peg-r
My Mum got me into crafting. She used to be a quilter, so the sound of her sewing machine would be whirring through the night. She would make me Halloween costumes and I always wanted to learn how-to sew my own clothes!
Always loved art and creating. My mom always bought me craft kits when I was growing up. Grew up with a mother and grandmother who are both amazing cooks so that's where my love of cooking and baking comes from. In later years, it's just come out of my need to learn everything. I see someone do something and I'm like, "that looks like fun." My mom didn't know how to sew but my mother-in-law is amazing at it and she bought me my sewing machine. Also, crafting can help relax me, which I need. I go in and out of being a prolific crafter. I've started to get back into lately. We are moving and I am planning on having a dedicated space again because I don't have one here.
