My birthday is January 29th and it drives my family crazy. The stores are usually still picked over from the holidays at that time so they have to do Christmas and birthday shopping in December. I celebrate on a small scale with just my husband and son and my parents. We usually just pick a day when everyone is off work to have cake and gifts.

Mine is at the end of March. I don't usually do anything special. I used to have friends over somewhere close to the actual day and we'd do the usual cake and pizza and what have you, but after this year planning a party that nobody even came to (which is something I didn't even think happened outside of the movies!), I'm not sure I want to do anything at all next year. :/ Maybe I'll just have it at a bar and let everyone pay for me to drink for free all night instead. Tongue

@AlterEgo I'm sorry to hear about your party and I totally understand. My elderly parents are the only ones to celebrate with me or my family. Don't give up! It's your day so celebrate it and enjoy. The others just won't know the fun they are missing.

@peg-r They make for a nice day. The spa here gives you a cupcake on your birthday. I still ate cake later ;-) I try to make it nice no matter what.

How old is your son? That's nice you all celebrate together.
