treasure
ok this might seem a little weird to some of you but heres what happend today
my husband collects antique bottles as a hobby, but today he didnt feel like digging for them ,so he saw this house which had burned down along time ago and he went inside to see what was in their ,being nosey i guess anyways he looked up in the rafters and saw a tin when he opened it inside were all these lovely retro type and old fashiond buttons , how cool is that oh and two spools of thread
but the weird part was the tin and buttons where completely undamaged by the fire i cant wait to use these in a project
anyways i was just wondering what treasures you guys have found or has someone found for you that just made your day
I consider everything I have as treasure! Even my eyore mug which is on the desk now. The most treasured thing is a necklace that belonged to my nan. Stuff like that and your tin, that's older than you maybe, is fascinating!
I've never just found something like that although when I was a kid I would keep random stuff I found outside but nothing as great as what he found for you! My auntie and uncle go walking like up mountains and stuff and my uncle found a peice of amythest, just sat there all by itself I don't think he found it in this country.
That's such an amazing find!
I've never found anything that amazing, just pretty buttons and bottle caps and things
Well its not quite as amazing since I go LOOKING for these things, but me and my friends go dumpster diving, and we found this HUGE [i mean like 8 ft tall 10 ft wide] flatpanel tv box, and we were going to use it as two [front and back] AMAZINGLY huge canvases! They actually ended up getting rained on, warping, and we didn't get to use them as canvases, but i did use the scrap cardboard for tons of stuff [like my pin up girl cardboard thing] We also got some shoes... its not how it sounds! We were walking around the apartment complex, and one of our friends neighbors [who we've talked to before] comes out with a box of NEW SHOES! She was going to just THROW THEM OUT [apparently they got them for christmas and they were all the wrong size] so my friends and I split them
It isn't very special, but I still keep this; in 8th grade I found a little Eeyore doll in the locker rooms during gym, nothing special just something someone probably got as a toy with a happy meal. But I still have it to this day sitting on my desk
wow that wouldev been a pretty huge canvase but at least you got some use outta it
lucky find on the shoes you know that saying one mans junk is another mans treasure ;)
oh i love eyore thats so cool its special because you found it and i bet it bringes back alot of memories evry time you look at it
My cousin drove by a supermarket dumpster and saw a breadrack and got it for me (And believe me, she's not the type to dumpster dive... at all!) And it's perfect for my studio and holding all my canvases and work. I do keep it on it's side and just slide the work in. It's really cool. I didn't find it, but it's my biggest found treasure.
I just find stupid stuff like money. I've found three 20 dollar bills since I was little: One floating in the ocean, one blowing across a parking lot, and one in a large mcdonalds ball area. I mean, it's cool, but definitely not 'treasure'
In my job as a hotel room cleaner, people throw away silly things they just can't or don't want to take back with them. Lava rocks, lovely shells and stones they found on their walks. Asian guests leave behind the most beautiful tea boxes, which now house all my various odds and ends I have found nice buttons and just small silly things that people have thrown away.( I would never take anything I thought someone had just forgotten though, just things that look thrown away)
thats really cool you guys are sooo lucky im jealous ;)
one time i found a ring when i was in elementary school it was really tiny like a pinky ring so i could wear it on my pointer finger it was only 14k
but it made me feel like a princess
oooo I found one of those cute little turtles they used to have in Kinder eggs in a playground when I was little!
There are those people that go supermarket dumpster diving and get food that has been thrown away from the supermarket unopened and not even out of date.
the turtle thing is pretty cool idk about the dumpster food that would scare the crap outta me
A lot of Crusties do that, dumpster dive for food.
Me... I'm STRICKLY sanitary and non-edibal things. Like a door [yes, I found a friggin door! lol] or my giant canvas thingsm or little kid chairs.
SAD! ok, so , at the end of the month [because thats when people move out, so they throw away all their furniture and stuff and leave it by the dumpsters] my two friends and I went dumpster diving, even though we didn't even have to go in the dumpsters, and we found 4 kid chairs [the little plastic kind], a tub for storage, a barstool, a bunch of alchohol bottles [we are planning on making a GIANT alchohol bottle, where the glass is little chuck of the actual bottles all put together, and the top is actually a bunch of tops put together] and just SO MANY cool stuff..
we go into my friend's apartment and leave the stuff in her little parking spot [it was clearly no where near a trash can, and it was obvious we were just keeping it there for a second] and we went up for a little while to be sad [this was the day one of our best friends JC was leaving to go to friggin texas cause he is a douche! lol ] and we go back downstairs AND ITS ALL GONE! they left some of the glass, but it was scattered everywhere, and the rest was just.. gone.
SUCKSAUCE! lol
oh man that does suck but its allways nice to find things with wipeable surfaces
yesterday my hubby found a shelf taller then him and hes 6ft1in so its hgew we hung it above the kitchen entrace well it in the dining room leading to the kitchen it makes the room look really good i cant wait to buy prettys for it
