My sister smokes???

So, about a year ago my elder sister and one of her friend kind of broke down and they weren't friends for a year.
Lets name my sister's friend as A and my sister as B.
So A started smoking and drinking alcohol. There isn't any problem with that because it is her life.
When A was talking casually to B, A asked if B smokes and B said no. A said that she doesn't smoke either.
Then all of a sudden A thought of having a party. A party kind of a party with beers and cigarettes. A said B smokes to the class. Everybody now thinks B smokes Happy

What do I do? I feel very bad for my sister Happy

Don't worry about it. Rumors are nasty but responding to them only makes it worse. Just let your sister know you know the truth and be there for her if she's actually upset over it. Most people learn to let nasty rumors roll off their back in high school, it's good preparation for the real world.

I agree with PinkWeeds, and everyone will probably start smoking now and your sister still doesn't so that is funny on a social and psychological scale.

Sounds like A is not a nice person but this is life - things happen which are hard to control and impossible for you to directly change. I agree with the previous comments - just be there - be supportive and understanding - don't get stressed - it will not help.

That sucks. I used to have to deal with a lot of A's in 7th grade, but once I got good friends I didn't really care any more. Also most times a lie comes back and makes it worse of for the person that made it. That happened to one of the A's I new and she got grounded for a month with her phone taken away permanently.

People can be so horrible sometimes. I wouldn't worry about a rumour like that too much though, many people smoke these days so it's not that bad. At least A isn't saying your sister is a slut or is pregnant or something like that.

RAWR!!! I agree with that too!!! I mean I've had people assume I was a slut because I had TWO boyfriends in high school that I had sex with,and they were both a year apart and at different schools, later on after high school one guy was all "I've heard stories about you." I was mighty embarrassed, I kind of hoped that my 2nd boyfriend; after I left didn't tell what we did and then everyone just talked about it... IDK but apparently there are stories about me... but they were with my Jordy, so I know that and he does too, everyone else just has to wish those stories were about them and me now..... I find that I have two friends and the rest are just people that I know because we exist. Find the people that love you for you and put all you have into them, the rest will notice and that will be their problem.
