Cute ideas for an anniversary?
Last year, my boyfriend planned a super exciting, fun-filled day for our anniversary, and this year it's my turn. I don't want to disappoint, but I can't think of anything in particular to top last year. What have you guys done for past anniversaries? What's something you wish you would do? Any ideas?
Usually my fiance and I get each other small gifts and go to dinner.
This year is our fifth anniversary so I'm taking him to his favorite restaurant of all time, and I invited a few of his best friends to join us. I also bought him a tungsten carbide ring with abalone in the center. In the past, I've just gotten him gifts.
For our 3 year anniversary, we got engaged and went to a holiday lights show with my family. The year before that, I made him a scarf and a hat from material in his favorite colors. He still wears the scarf every winter. Our first year, I got him a digital camera after getting him a boxed set of his favorite TV show on DVD for his birthday.
This year, he's getting my engagement ring updated and he's going to be my designated driver when I go in to get new piercings this weekend.
I guess I don't really do anything festive, lol. Romantic drives and good dinners usually do the trick here.
Does he like handmade and thoughtful gifts?? If yes make a small bouquet type with plastic bottles!
Cut the top part of the bottle and cut a v shape at front
Make flowers with clays
And at the front of the cap of the bottle write ....like fifths anniversary or whateva anniversary this year it is.......of your...I made one for my parents on their anniversary but I wrote the date when they were married and I totally agree with monika!
Take him to the places he likes....for an example if he likes baseball then take him to a game of baseball.......you know what he like..his hobbies!! You can collect some photos and make a gift....take a plain fancy frame and stick all kinds of photos....kind of a comic type!
My boyfriend and I normally go to a musical on our anniversary or to our favorite resturant. This year we didn't really celebrate it because it was a week away from when we were having our baby so we didn't have time. One year for valentine's day I made him an indoor picnic with a hand-made gourmet pizza, fresh backed bread, tossed salad, wine and a 2 layer chocolate coffee cake made from scratch. It was probably the only time I planned anything for us. I guess if you have to fill up the whole day though that would be challenging, I'd probably take him to an arcade or a museum that's showing something he'd like. Or I would try to find some historical place in your city that neither of you have been to before (like here we have General Crook's house) and do a tour of something like that.
Our last anniversary was rather fun - we went to a favorite restaurant & then went to a pottery place where you paint your own mugs & they fire it for you so you can take it home and have the memory immortalized in ceramic.
I agree with pinkweeds - filling the whole day could be rather challenging, but I love her indoor picnic idea!
You could move all the furniture out & hang up lights with lots of comfy pillows & a favorite movie to play
