I just started my blog in December, it's called Fistfightsandfairylights.blogspot.com, and I started out just blogging occasionally about fashion or my Goodwill finds (I'm a Clothes Encounters Youtube Junkie) but with the new year I started a 365 one DIY a day project. I put the tutorials on here. So now I post daily about my process.
I'm curious. Do you blog?

I'm doing a 365 day blog also. But it is mostly about the progress I make on a weekly costume project. One costume project each week. Sometimes its about life stuff or musings in my head about costumes. I saw yours, Frankly Curious. That's amazing that you can DIY each day! How do you do it?!
And nicpea, do you blog? I'd like to read it. I always find people writing about themselves or what they love interesting. Whenever someone writes about something they are really into or even something that happened to them that day, I always like reading that...Is that odd?

I have depression, so it's kind of my own therapy to do something constructive. I'm at school right now, but I'm interested in checking out yours as soon as I get home...what type of costumes?

That's so cool! What great therapy! I'm recommending this to my friends.
As for me, I like doing all kinds of costumes. My favorites are Medieval, Renaissance, Victorian, Regency, Steampunk and Cosplay. Here is my blog: http://sirladycostumer.wordpress.com/

i just started a year long blog project too! mine is "52 projects in 52 weeks" my cousins and I are going together and putting our crochet and other items in a store together, so my blog I started on New Years, and I'm using it to document my personal process of helping start the store, and my new years resolution to complete at least 52 projects before the end of the year (ideally, i want to complete at least one project a week vs a ton one month and none the next, but we'll see how it goes once summer hits and i'm working all the time..). I'm trying to blog daily to show my progress with the resolution and what not. your blogs sound fun i'll have to check them out :]

if you're interested my blog can be found here :] ------->

Thankyou for your answers everybody...Frankly Curious- I looked at http://fistfightsandfairylights.blogspot.com/ and love the idea of a 365 days challenge, I also thought that the blog looked colourful and pretty, which helps to grab attention. I will have a look at it again to see what projects have been made throughout the year.
Sarania H- those costumes look like they used a lot of skill to create, good luck with your future projects and I hope that you can do more of what you love.

I also checked out http://chelseamadeblog.blogspot.com/. I liked the appearance of this also plus the idea of challenging yourself and using a blog as a way of motivation to stay committed.

I have a new blog, which is basically the third incarnation of one I started last year. It has taken many forms but is now a mixture of craft, debt, life and humour..but I'm just getting started with it.
I would love to hear about peoples favourite blogs as well as their own so please keep posting...

Happy

I've had a look at all of them, lots of lovely jewellery being made it seems Happy. I have a blog, but spend more time looking at other peoples and all of the rest of the time wasting stuff on the internet. Maybe that should be what I write my next post about!

Yeah I'm starting to think that instead of only posting when I make something that I should spend some time blogging about all the wonderful inspirational things and how-to's and examples I spent time finding and never finding the motivation to put to use. Hopefully someone else can then.

I do have a question though, I had decided when I started my blog that it should read the way I think about things...with the omission of all the extra unnecessary words...refraining from saying anyways every time I switch subjects. So I tend to be brutally honest about what I'm up to and I swear quite often. I was wondering if it really matters...I mean, I've yet to find myself a crafter who I actually feel I can relate too. So I figured why not? But I was wondering, as readers how much does it matter?

If you've read mine, it would probably make more sense as to what I mean. Aside from this being a little more of a shameful promotion...How detrimental is language, content and motivation to what you're actual producing and trying to covey?

I think from a reader's point of view you are much more likely to attract readers if you refrain from cursing. The old saying "you'll attract more flies with honey" applies with pretty much everything.

From a writer's perspective I truly believe that using swear words is a sign of a deficient mind. There are so many great words out there and amazing ways to describe things without having to resort to simple minded curse words. I challenge you to explore those options. Pull out your dictionary and give it a try. I’m willing to bet you’ll find some fun words you’ll like better. I recommend checking out the F section of the dictionary. Some of my favorite words start with the letter F and they are way more satisfying and fun to say than the F-bomb.
