I'd like to make something out of resin, but don't know where to get it or any brand names to look for.
Check this out first:

You can get resin mail order from Fred Aldous (Manchester) and larger quantities from Clark's Coatings.
They akso sell it in some larger craft stores.
ok thanks, i'll go looking (and probably buy online lol)
hi , i got my resin in art and hobby it was 25 euro but was very very messy lol and hard to work with. well thats what i thought lol
Most DIY stores (B&Q etc.) will sell resin. I'm not sure whether it's a craft resin or whether there is any difference. You'll always find the resin at the diy end of the store. Even the cheapie stores sell little packs of resin next to things like the superglue and wood stain.
It's usually cheaper there too.
Hobby craft has a website and sells it for 29 pounds i think for quite a decent ish amount.
I recently bought Gedeo Crystal resin from Metal clay...good stuff, doesn't smell either

Reasonable prices, £2 delivery.
Hey there Nikki I perchased my clear cast resin from http://www.modelshop.co.uk at a reasonable price-I think it was about £10 for the smaller tub but they stock varied resins in all different amounts.
The prices I think are some of the best I've found, so I hope this helps .
how far does a 4oz box of resin go?
4oz goes pretty far, since you really don't need much at all. It's tricky to work with, but once you have a grasp on resin making the possibilites are quite endless!
I bought mine from fredaldous online I think...along with some pigment that I'm not sure is compatable and some silicone for mould making. I may have got some bits from amazon, who basically sell everything these days...even some foods. I got as far as prepping some items to make silicone moulds of (to cast resin into) and erm...well they are still in the drawer, unused. I have The Fear about popping my resin cherry!
