Lets all eat cake!
As part of our silver jubilee celebrations we are aiming to raise £10,000 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. We are inviting everyone to hold a tea party to help us reach our target. It doesn't have to be anything fancy - a Victoria sponge between a few friends is fine. Please email creative@beadsunlimited.co.uk and entitle your email 'Sea and Cakes' if you would like to join in. I can send you a poster and an info pack. What better excuse can there be to eat cake and have a chit chat?
oh I wish I could make it!
Hi Michelle, You don't need to go anywhere, you can have one of our parties in your own living room with a few friends. Please have a look at my blog post for a bit more info if you're interested. http://www.beadbarmy.com/2011/01/sea-and-cakes-%e2%80%93-let%e2%80%99s-all-have-a-party/
I will
Just to report, I'm hosting my first cake and coffee morning on Thursday 3rd Feb, many of my friends are donating cake as well as buying it and every single person who can't make it has placed an order to collect later in the day. I love my friends Really looking forward to it and raising some money
That's brilliant Tracey! I can't wait to see the photos.
Good luck for tomorrow Tracey. We now have quite a few people planning to flog cakes for the cause! An easy way to do it seems to be just to take them into your workplace and entice people when they are on their break!
A fabulous £66 was made by Tracey, the first person to hold a 'sea and cakes' party! I can't wait to see what happens with the other events. I'll be posting pics on www.beadbarmy.com later this week, so you can all have a good oggle at the cakes!
Hi all, Just to let you know that there's now a story on my blog about Tracey's sea and cakes party plus lots of pics of gorgeous cakes! Please take a look http://www.beadbarmy.com/2011/02/sea-and-cakes-tea-parties-a-recipe-for-success/
Yay! Another £30 in the pot from Sylvia in Birmingham who organised a coffee morning with her bridge club!
Is this open world wide?
Yes Priyal it is as you can donate the money to our fundraising page when you've held your party.
Just to report - another £15 towards our target from the Darlington Bead Group who held their tea party on 19th February
I'm very excited. Our first overseas party is being held this week in Southern Ireland. Al has been selling cakes in the gym where she works no less! I guess people figure that they'll be burning off the calories anyway! I should have the results tomorrow.
Thanks to Al in Ireland for raising 60 Euros for our RNLI sea and cakes campaign! Extra points for doing it in a fitmess mad arena (at the Gym)!
