HP7P1--Your Thoughts? (NO SPOILERS, PLEASE!)
So, last night was the opening of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (aka Harry Potter 7)... Part 1. I saw it, and in my opinion, it is EASILY the best movie--in fact, if you combine the rest of the movies... it kicks their collective butt, without even having to try.
Actually, it's the only HP movie I've watched and not complained about for a month or so afterward. In fact, it was so surprisingly and refreshingly good that I SKIPPED out of the theatre!
I say this as an avid and rabid (lol) HP book purist, not as a movie connoisseur. However, I really liked that a non-book fan was actually able to follow what the heck was going on in the movie--for once--and in fact, that is part of what made it so good. This is the one HP movie that can really stand on its own as a movie--it explained everything that needed to be explained to the non-fan, and not in an overtly obvious manner.
I am happy. :-D
Your thoughts???
ooh I want to see
i'll get back to you after tommorrowwhen i've been to see it....EEEPP!! EXCITED! x
Great!! I can't wait to hear what others have to say! I've so far only heard one bad review, and that was supposedly from a friend of a friend of an online friend... so Idk if he is even real. :-P All the REAL people I know who have seen it LOVE it and say it's the best one. I say.. DUH. xD
Rachie, I have to agree with you there. It was awesome! Wow.. I was expecting it to suck because the last two were terrible but it was amazing. I'm definately gonna go watch it again!
i want to watch it! xD i need to find an open time though :S it's likely i won't get to til monday!
The strange thing is that it was the same director as movies 5 and 6, and he absolutely and brutally butchered the last ones!! I'm guessing he got a lot of hate mail, AND Rowling told him that, since two movies are being made, he BETTER keep it canon.
The film turned out to be better than what I expected.
Although I was fairly annoyed when the audience started laughing and clapping at innapropriate moments like Bathilda's appearance..
No matter, I am so excited for the next installment!! AHH!!
I loved it! I was getting sad as the movie was going on because I knew it was going to end soon and I really wanted it to keep on going forever! I got to say I love love love the fact that it's not made for kids. There are more mature themes and more serious things to face. I love the maturity of the movie and everything looked awsome (as per usual) I'm a "rabid" harry fan also and I was really pleased with it. My mom (who always comes with me on opening night because of tradition) doesnt read any of the books and while she enjoys the movies she doesnt really remember all the characters or pay as close attention to detail as I do lol didnt care for this movie as much. She prefers the fun, happy movies with lots of new things like candies and different new spells and unknown parts of the castle and she didnt expect this movie to be so intense.
All in all I loved it and I can't wait to buy it on DVD so I can watch it again. You know a movie is good if you want to rewatch it as soon as it ends.
watching it now
squee
and I agree with lo
ok it was a really bad copy online, but I am so going to buy it when it comes out!!!
OMG, I'm so excited for it to come out too! I thought the exact same thing when it ended--"I want to watch this again NOW!" A toooonnn of other people I know have said the same thing. I think this film epicly wins the "Best Harry Potter Film" award.
I'm so excited for the next part. This one was epic so the next should be "bloody brilliant" hahaha. I'm so excited to see the very end of the movie. You know, the last chapter of the book... after some time has gone by. I can't wait to see what the characters will look like.
me too lo. That would be awesome, no excited
